Just had to share...

I'm so beyond thrilled about the new layout on my photography site (click here to view the actual blog) that I wanted to make sure to give Marina from Penny Lane Designs (who also did the layout for The Look 4 Less) as much blog love as possible. If you're looking for a new layout for your own blog, definitely check out her Pre-Fab blog designs. She's got a ton of great options and can customize it to your specific needs. They are super affordable and Marina is as nice as she is talented, so please visit her site and pass along her name if you know anyone that's in the market for a blog makeover!!

Marina also does tons of other graphic design work including wine labels, custom t-shirt designs, wedding monograms, birth announcements, brochures...(seriously the list goes on!). Click here to see all of the products she offers.

Again, a HUGE thank you to Marina - you're the best!

Inspired by...Alexander Wang

A reader recently requested that I find a less expensive version of this Alexander Wang one shoulder drape top that Rachel Bilson wore in the Tresemme ads. You can see the shirt listed here on the Selfridges website, but it is no longer available.

Although the coloring is different, I thought this one shoulder top by Max Studio was a good inspired by option. It retails fo r$130 and you can click on the photo below to purchase.

Inspired by...Elizabeth and James

This double layered tank by Elizabeth and James retailed for $165 at Bloomingdales but appears to be sold out online.

Frenchi's ruffled hem tank is more of an inspired by look but is very reminiscent of the E&J version and will save you a nice chunk of cash as well. It retails for $32 and also comes in a dark grey and dark teal color called cove. Click on the photo below if you're interested in purchasing, or if you want to view the other colors available.

What I'm Wearing: Snow Leopard

Sorry about the double What I'm Wearing post, but since I took inspiration from a recently featured celebrity look 4 less for my outfit today, I wanted to be sure and share. I loved how Zoe Saldana wore a leopard scarf to spice up a basic black outfit, and I modified her look slightly so that I could use items I already had in my closet (wearing jeans in a darker wash, and pairing it with flats rather than sky high heels).

Outfit details:
J Crew black vneck tee - $24.50
Yarnz leopard print scarf - purchased with credits from Gilt (no longer available)
Delias Morgan skinny jeans - $44.50
Tory Burch Reva flats - $195

Alternatives have been added below for items not available, and similar items at different price points. Click on any of the items to purchase or view.

Celebrity Look 4 Less: Alexa Chung

Model and TV personality Alexa Chung has great style and when I saw this photo of her, I knew that I wanted to feature it on the blog. (Photo credit)

I found a similar shirt dress at Alloy and it's currently on sale for $19.99 (also available in navy if you prefer). Just add a striped cardigan and a navy peacoat + accessories (click on the photos below to purchase or view larger) and you've got a great start to replicating Alexa's look 4 less.

Style Me Saturday: Sequin Skirt

Kylie from My Shopaholic Confessions emailed me the following question about this sequin skirt by Aqua.

I have this skirt that I'm taking to Vegas next week, would love to see some ideas you may have. I've tried the way they did on the model and it was just okay. I've also tried a solid black v-neck.

I actually got inspiration for the looks I came up with for Kylie from a couple different places, the first being the look pictured below from Shopbop. I love how they made a sequin mini more casual by pairing it with a slouchy sweater and you can see my interpretation of the look below (click on any of the items to purchase). I listed two sweaters at different price points, as well as a few different options for the booties (if you want a chunkier boot like she's wearing, click here for a similar style).

If you want a dressier look, I took inspiration from the following photo of actress Jessica Stroup (photo credit). Below the photo are elements that will give you a similar look for less, click on any of the photos to purchase.

Which of these two looks do you prefer? How would you personally style this skirt?

What I'm Wearing: Friday Night Brights (A Day Late)

I actually wore this outfit yesterday but after working all day, I took the picture and didn't get a chance to post it (by the way, sorry for the awkward pose in the first pic! Apparently it's my superhero stance...or something like that??). So, you'll probably get two outfit posts from me this weekend.

As you can see, I don't really have to dress up for work so jeans are typical work wear for me. I paired my favorite jeans with a polka dot top from Anthropologie and a bright cardigan.

Outfit details:
Anthropologie Night Skating Top - $48
Madewell cardigan - (Purchased in 2008, no longer available)
7 for All Mankind Flynt jeans - (Purchased several years ago)
Target Simone Flats - No longer available

Get the look:
Since several items that I'm wearing are no longer available, these are all alternatives except for the Night Skating shirt from Anthropologie. Click on any of the photos below to purchase these items.

Inspired by...Lanvin

Lanvin's mesh and pearl necklace retails for $790 at Bergdorf Goodman.

Although Amber over at Amber's Notebook made a fabulous DIY version of a similar Lanvin necklace, I also wanted to post this inspired by version by RJ Graziano which retails for $45. You can click on the photo below if you're interested in purchasing.

Get The Look: Flower Power

It seems like every time spring rolls around, I start seeing floral prints everywhere. I suppose it's because after a fall and winter full of dark neutrals, everyone is ready to pull out their sundresses and floral prints just make you think spring, don't they?

I'm not typically one to wear floral prints, in fact I don't think I own one single item (actually I checked last night and I have 2 things, but haven't worn either yet!), but I did find some cute pieces while searching for this post and might have to make a purchase soon. Hopefully one of these items (all under $100) will help bring you out of your winter funk and start thinking spring! Just click on any of the photos to purchase/view.

Gap Mini Floral Henley Tank - $49.50
I think this tank would be adorable under a cardigan for now, and on it's own once the warmer temperatures hit.

Eight Sixty Mixed Print tank - $58
I love the bold print on this tank, as well as the color combination used.

Free People Easy Breezy Sequined Floral Print tank - $68
The colors used in this tank make me think of a tropical vacation.

Silence & Noise Floral Back Zip Tank - $28
The exposed zipper down the back of this tank gives a little edge to a girly print.

Yumi Kim Dixie Top - On sale for $48
I love everything about this tank, the print, the colors, the ruffle. Adorable.

Forever 21 Floral Ruffle Tunic - $29.80
This tunic style top from Forever 21 might even work as a dress if you're on the short side, if not pair it with leggings (or jeggings) and some flats.

Mimi Chica Challis Dress - $44
This Parker inspired dress was featured on the blog before, and I still adore it. Comes in a few other floral prints as well.

Kimchi Blue Mermaid Poplin Dress - $58
This fitted dress has a mermaid hem which gives it a little something special.

American Rag Dress - $49
I love the vintage vibe of this sweet floral dress.

Free People Mary's Garden Dress - $88
I tend to gravitate toward this style of dress in the summer, and I love the floral skirt and the colors on this Free People version.

Urban Renewal Floral Chiffon Peplum Tube Dress - $58
I love how they styled this tube dress with a belt, but it also looks great on it's own (comes in two other floral prints).

Aerie Floral Ruffle Dress - $29.50
Super girlie print and ruffle detailing, and also completely affordable.

Alloy Floral Print Dress - $49.90
Another tank style dress at a reasonable price!

Rose Floral Print Scarf - $8.50
This pretty scarf will give your outfit just a hint of flower power (great for someone easing into the floral print - like me!).

Floral Printed Fringe Scarf - $18
This scarf was featured as part of Carrin's travel look on last week's Style Me Saturday post. I love how this looks with a simple tunic, cardigan, and leggings but it would look great with a ton of outfits.

French Connection Bikini - $17 for each piece (total $34)
I think the print on this bikini is super cute, and I love that it's also affordable. It comes in white too if you prefer a lighter color.

Inspired by...Autumn Cashmere

Reader Emily sent me this find, so thank you to her!

This belted Autumn Cashmere cape retails for $385 at Revolve Clothing and also comes in black.

Although it's not a cape, this belted top from Forever 21 will give you an inspired by style for only $12.80. It's also available in red or purple and you can click on the photo below to purchase.

Celebrity Look 4 Less: Mary Kate Olsen

I saw this picture of Mary Kate Olsen on Olsens Anonymous (you can see a larger photo there), and although normally I don't care for what she wears (at least for incorporating into my own life - our styles are VERY different), I thought this outfit was very chic.

If you want to recreate Mary Kate's outfit, you're going to need a silky tunic style dress, and I chose this one by BCBG which retails for $148 (click here or here to get a lower priced version, although not the same material). Don't forget the patterned tights, wide black belt, and patent booties (as well as lots of gold rings and a chain style bracelet)- all of which I included below! (Note: Target also has similar tights for $9 here.)
